Outtakes

For those of you who know my sister you probably wouldn't be surprised that we had TONS of outtakes from our session the other day.  She is super goofy and we had a lot of fun just being sisters that day.

There were bugs EVERYWHERE and no matter what we would do they wouldn't leave us alone...swatting didn't work...

Then she decided that running from them would be a good idea...

Then she decided to have a more Zen attitude about it.

It was very bright that morning.  Since she already has a hard time keeping her eyes wide open we took the "one, two, three, open!" approach.  This time we weren't in sync.

She practiced her Titanic moves while telling me a story...how romantic.

Since she is leaving for college soon, I have compiled the photos from this session into a slideshow (read: I logged on to Animoto and let them do the work for me).

Morning Person?

Taylor is NOT a morning person…but she could have fooled me yesterday.  She was up at 6:30 for our 7:30 am session.  I had begged her the night before to go out with me so I could play with the morning light and to my surprise she happily obliged.  Our first stop was my favorite alley in Zionsville, and with her back to the morning sun I was inspired!

After walking around town for a little while we decided to move on to Holiday Road.  While there are reports of the road being haunted, I LOVE it for photography.

For those of you who don't know my sister, she will be a vocal music major at Butler University in the fall (wow that's creeping up on us)...wouldn't these make great album covers?

She loosened up on the bridge...more outtakes from that tomorrow :)

Look at those eyes!
I love me some converse...

Kids :: Faye

Recently I decided to take one of the kids I nanny for out for a (really really late) birthday shoot. Her birthday is in October, and we decided to wait until the weather was nicer, but with her school schedule and my schedule we are just now getting this in. She is usually pretty shy, but surprisingly really enjoyed being in front of the camera! Our session was very brief (20 min) because she had to work on her artistic talents at a summer pottery class. Overall though, I was very happy with some of the images I got. She keeps asking to go out again but next time she wants multiple outfits ;) With these results I would be silly to deny her that!

Spaghetti

These pictures are REALLY old, but I like the memories...One day I decided to give the boys spaghetti for lunch...now these photos aren't high quality, but I just had to share this precious boy enjoying his food...the first few are of him enjoying a snack in his favorite spot...on the kitchen floor

Needless to say...bath time followed spaghetti time...

Talking Cat

TJ lived upstairs in my house because he was afraid of the giant German Shepherd down stairs...I can't say I blame him.  As he got older he started meowing louder and louder, and while those of us who lived in the house learned to tune it out, when people would come to visit it was something they just couldn't ignore.  TJ lived the longest in the Neita pet cemetery (we are notoriously not good with pets).  When he finally passed we estimated he was about 17 years old.

The Lyndsays...?

At 23 I didn't think I would ever have to go to one of my best friend's funerals...I thought someday Lindsay and I would be racing each other in our wheel chairs...Lindsay and I had known each other since we were six years old...I remember walking around the neighborhood with my parents and seeing her playing in the yard with some other neighborhood kids...we quickly became friends...I mean we do have the same name and all, although later she would be known to most as "Spike"...we were often involved in the same things...in middle school we helped start up the "ecology club"...she was much more of a "tomboy" than I ever was, but I would like to think that a little of that rubbed off on me...she had me playing in the dirt and gross ponds, while I kept trying to convince her that it was fun to sometimes dress like a girl...one of my favorite memories of Lindsay is from 8th grade Tech class...we had an assignment to build a scale model of a house...to many this project was a bore, but Lindsay and I found it enthralling, and built our dream home...we often later talked about how we should actually build that house...as we entered high school, we made different friends, but still managed to spend countless hours together doing stage crew...we both were at home in the theater, and we were in show choir...which is when I saw Lindsay in a dress for the first time...show choir took up any free time that we could have possibly had, but that was ok...we had a blast spending Saturdays at random high schools, singing and doing crew...we collective managed stage crew as "The Lyndsays" and we balanced each other well...the only picture I took at my high school graduation was of Lindsay and I in our caps and gowns...through many tears I helped her pack for her new adventure to Ball State...I couldn't imagine what it was going to be like with her so far away...and although we didn't see each other as much after she left for school, we still talked and made it a point to see each other over the few holidays that brought her home...as I sit here writing this, so many memories pop into my head...and as hard as I try to smile as she always did, I'm teary thinking about the friend I'll have to wait so long to see again.

Senior Prom 2003...Lindsay didn't surprise many showing
up to prom in a tux...we laughed later when we looked at our pictures and realized that we looked like each other's prom dates...and just to clarify we weren't...
Sarah and Meredith with "The Lyndsays" after
a competition...all done up in our make-up and purple bustiers...
Kevin and "The Lyndsays" after a night of
musical rehearsal...we liked to write
sayings on tape and stick them on our shirts just for laughs...
